Shortcut to add a new row or column in Excel

Excel spreasheet often insert rows or columns, but for most users it is a multistep process especially when you want to insert more than 1 rows.

To insert a new row or column in the current position, select the row or column and press Ctrl and + characters. You can use the + on the numeric pad or else you will have to press the shift button too. Ctrl and Shift and +.

To insert multiple rows, you can press the combination multiple times which still makes it much faster than right click and select insert for every row.

The other way to insert multiple rows is to first select multiple rows (equal to the number that you want to insert) and then use the shortcut above.

Similarly to delete the rows or column, select it and press Ctrl and – character.
